How It Works

Get a bike. Go for a ride. Give it back. So easy!

  1. Sign up. Sign up for a pass and register your existing TAP card or get a brand new TAP card in the mail.
  2. Check out a bike. Walk up to any bike at a Metro Bike share station, touch the silver button to wake up the dock and tap your TAP card on the reader (or use your phone number at the kiosk) to check out a bike. Check bike and dock availability in real time on the station map or the Metro Bike Share app.
  3. Start riding! Don’t forget your helmet. When returning your bike to a station, just give it a firm push into any open dock. You will see a flashing green light and hear the dock beep three times to confirm it's been properly locked.
